Situated near a lively traditional market in Klegen, this spot offers a calm refuge for those seeking a genuine taste of Javanese nasi pecel. The dish here centers on steamed vegetables like kangkung and long beans, dressed in a thick, balanced peanut sauce that carries a gentle sweetness with a touch of spiciness. It’s commonly paired with sides such as fried tempeh, tofu, egg, and crunchy peyek, making for a hearty and familiar meal throughout the day.
The atmosphere is cozy and casual, drawing a mix of college students, groups, tourists, and locals looking for a quiet place to enjoy their meal. While the outdoor seating is comfortable and the space feels modest, it can get busy around mealtime, so a bit of patience might be needed. The setting is low-key and trendy without feeling rushed, suitable for solo diners and families alike.
Visitors often appreciate the straightforward service and the chance to accompany their food with warm, sweet teas or refreshing local drinks. Parking can be a bit tight due to the proximity to the traditional market, but paid options are available nearby. While accessibility is limited, the overall experience leans into the simple pleasure of familiar flavors savored in a down-to-earth neighborhood setting.

"Also it beat served with fried tempeh/tahu, fried egg, bakwan and peyek."
"Nice tast, good service and good price"
"Nice food but to small location"
4 Flavour wise it was good pecel...but i couldn't find bunga turi in it or maybe it was run out i dont know...(as for me it is what makes pecel Madiun different from other kind of pecel)...and because it's located at a small traditional market..it was not many of parking space for car... And for the price..we ordered nasi pecel empal, nasi pecel paru and nasi pecel telor with 3 warm sweet tea..and it cost us 68k.. Relatively good price for me.
5 One of the most legendary must try nasi pecel. The sauce is thick, tasteful with the right balance of sweetness and spiciness. The best lauk (protein condiment) for me is “Tetelan”, its mix of empal (fried beef), fat, and sometimes lung if you are lucky. The place is comfortable enough for dine in but it gets packed with people sometimes so you need to wait.
5 The pecel is very delicious! Yummy to the max! Good service and very clean too. You shouldn’t miss visiting this place if you visit Madiun. The pecel us very recommended and also the Es campur Dawet Cincau.
4 If you're looking for a place that serve Pecel, then you must visit this place. Nasi pecel is a Javanese rice dish served with vegetables (such as kangkung or water spinach, long beans, cucumber, bean sprouts, and basil leaf) and topped with peanut sauce. Also it beat served with fried tempeh/tahu, fried egg, bakwan and peyek. This place are noticeable from the main road and quite comfy if you want to dine in.
5 Legendary and delicious pecel in Madiun (traditional javanese salad, made from steamed vegetables drrssed with peanut sauce.
5 Best pecel in madiun, located in a scrap metal market. You won't regret it! The peanut sauce was smooth and perfect....
4 The dish was good, I ordered pecel rawon, it was my first time though, but I recommend this place to other people, but you have to expect the way you get here will be crowded and maybe will difficult to find place to park your car
5 True original pecel Madiun, been around for many years, they opened a few branches in Surabaya and Jakarta, but it is a must go whenever I am visiting Madiun. They have a very distinctive peanut sauce, thick and not watery unlikee most other pecel, and the peanut aroma really stood up
The nasi pecel, a traditional Javanese rice dish with peanut sauce and various vegetables, is highly recommended, especially with lauk like empal or tetelan.
It’s suitable for both quick bites and casual dining, but it can get busy, so be prepared to wait during peak times.
The place tends to get packed during lunch and dinner, so visiting early or later than typical meal hours might be more comfortable.
The warung accommodates both groups and solo diners, making it versatile for different dining needs.
There is outdoor seating and table service in a casual, cozy setting, but note there is no wheelchair accessible entrance or seating.
The place is cash-only, so be sure to bring enough cash for your meal.
